“Love is a little fire, a little spark, a little thing to play with, but it can set the whole world ablaze.” This Emily Dickinson quote came to mind as I witnessed Fortune Wobidi and Annaliese Emenike exchange their marital vows on Saturday. Fortune radiated pure joy, perhaps the happiest groom I’ve ever seen. Even before the ceremony started, as he arrived at the church, he was all smiles—beaming as brightly as Goodluck Jonathan after he won the 2015 presidential election. Lol. And once the church wedding started, his enthusiasm made other couples look like they were there just to learn from him and take notes. From the church wedding at Gateway to the vibrant reception at CJ & J Event Centre, Port Harcourt, Fortune and Annaliese turned their wedding into a full-on Netflix-worthy experience. Every detail seemed meticulously planned and executed, more like they took years to prepare for the day.
Let’s take a closer look at six unforgettable moments from their wedding:
1. Fortune, the Superstar Dancer
Fortune stole the show with his incredible dance moves. We have all seen over-the-top wedding dances on social media, but Fortune’s energy was something else. Whether it was the sheer joy of finally marrying the love of his life or a bid to show up the singles in the room and “pepper Dem” small, his dancing was on another level. At one point, I thought we were watching a live audition for *Maltina Dance All*! He kept the same infectious energy from the moment he walked into the church to the very end of the reception. Maybe there was a competition for the best wedding dance, say they church promised a special gift for the best dance couple with a Rolls-Royce as the prize, or perhaps his in-laws jokingly told him to “dance well” or risk not being handed their daughter. Either way, he danced like the modern-day David, full of passion and joy reminding me of Davido’s uncle, Gov Adeleke who has been tagged the dancing governor because his dance moves and joy. Lol
2. The Epic “Kiss Your Bride” Moment
When it came time for that iconic “You may now kiss the bride” moment, Fortune and Annaliese didn’t hold back. You might expect some shyness because of the presence of their parents, family, friends, and even pastors looking, but not these two. They kissed like it was their last day on Earth—long, passionate, and full of love. Their intense kiss has already gone viral, with the video being shared hundreds of times with thousands of reactions social media. I didn’t know pastors sabi kiss until on Saturday. Dem go sha explain to Pastor Izunwa how dem tek learn am . Loool
3. Fortune Serenades His Bride
One of the most heartfelt moments of the evening was when the MC announced that Fortune had something special planned for his bride. As we all held our breath in anticipation, Fortune grabbed the mic and serenaded Annaliese with a love song that left us in awe. It was straight out of a romantic movie, complete with everyone in the hall letting out collective “aww” moments. As Fortune sang, Annaliese sat there beaming, her smile as wide as someone who’d just hit the lottery jackpot. They got everyone screaming awww many times. Single springles sha suffered in their hand. I’m sure many girls were wishing their man could sing for them like Fortune . Lol. It was a magical, unforgettable moment that Annaliese will likely treasure forever.
4. Annaliese’s Grand Entrance
Annaliese was every inch the radiant Igbo bride. Her fashion game was on point—from her elegant wedding gown to her reception outfits, each one better than the last. But it wasn’t just her attire that wowed the crowd; her entrance with her girls was a scene-stealer. As they walked in, the energy in the room shifted—everyone stood, smiling, snapping pictures, and recording videos. It was the kind of grand entrance every bride dreams of, leaving everyone in awe. I could imagine many single ladies saying ‘God when?” in their mind.
5. Fortune’s Impeccable Fashion Sense
Fortune wasn’t just the star of the dance floor; his style was equally impressive. His wedding suit was the epitome of class—a sleek black suit with a bold tie that screamed “classic man.” It was tailored to perfection, making him look every bit like a prince marrying his princess. He didn’t stop there, though. Fortune wore two different outfits for the reception: a stylish black native attire complete with a regal cap and beads, followed by a chieftaincy shirt paired with a walking stick. Each outfit was a statement—blending tradition with modern, Gen Z vibes and exuding excellence. Man look so stunning no Diddy.I wont be wrong if I say he came to make a fashion statement as well.
6. A Celebrity-Studded Affair with Top-Notch Entertainment
The wedding had it all—great food, plenty of drinks, and stellar entertainment. DJ Manny kept the energy high, while MC Prof expertly guided the event, ensuring everything flowed smoothly. It wasn’t just the couple and their close-knit families that shone; the event attracted some big names in the entertainment industry. Celebrities and content creators like Matilda Lambert and Mark Angel graced the event, adding even more star power to an already dazzling day.
It was truly a spectacular celebration of love, joy, and elegance. From Fortune’s dance moves to the emotional serenade, and the sheer beauty of the couple’s union, this wedding will be talked about for years to come. And special thanks to their food vendor. I enjoyed my rice. Not forgetting how everyone dressed modestly with no drama. I’m happy it was based on invitation and the couple picked their guests carefully. From the decoration to the food to MC and music, it was perfectly perfect-The kind of wedding I love.
