Abuja experienced a powerful wave of Afrogospel last night as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising stars, Festizie, hosted his much-anticipated annual concert, FESTIZIE LIVE ABUJA, at Eden Parks and Gardens.
From start to finish, the atmosphere was charged with faith, joy, and gospel music that kept everyone on their feet. For many, including myself, it was a first-time experience at an Afrogospel concert, and it was nothing short of unforgettable.
A Night of Ministry Through Music
The evening began with Godwin King, who opened the night as the first minister. After him, several other gifted ministers and gospel artistes took turns preparing the atmosphere before Festizie finally came on stage.
Festizie then thrilled fans not only with his own performance but also with a carefully curated lineup of gospel voices, including:
• Greatman Takit
• Aigbeh D’gong
• Uwa
• Great Godwin
• Chizie
• Son Music
• Godfrey Gad
• Echow Clay
• Paul Rarity
• Clinton Flames
• Baron Jay
• Amose
• and more.
Greatman Takit Shakes the House
When Greatman Takit took the stage, the atmosphere went a notch higher. He delivered his popular hits, engaging the crowd with passion and energy. He closed his session with “Jugular”- perhaps the biggest Afrogospel anthem right now after “No Turning Back.” The crowd’s response proved just how deeply Afrogospel is resonating with this generation.
Festizie in His Element
Before bringing up any guest artist, Festizie ministered with a collection of his hits, drawing the crowd into worship and celebration. Later, he returned in a new outfit alongside his live band, keeping the momentum alive and reminding his fans exactly why they showed up.
At one point, Pastor Chinedu joined him on stage, and the concert shifted into a deeper dimension of worship. It was ministry, not entertainment. Many of us didn’t even want the night to end.
Energy Like Never Before
This wasn’t a sit-down concert-there were no chairs. Everyone was on their feet, standing, singing, and dancing from start to finish. The energy was different, the atmosphere was unprecedented, and it left me looking forward to many more Afrogospel experiences like this.
One unforgettable highlight was DJ Penny, who proved that even a gospel DJ can minister powerfully. With unmatched skill and energy, she kept the crowd moving while pointing hearts to God.
The Sound of the Season
By the end of the night, one thing was certain: Afrogospel is the sound of the season. The vibrant fusion of Afrobeat rhythms and gospel lyrics is not just music, it’s a movement, and Festizie is one of its leading voices.
He crowned the night by performing his soon-to-be-released single, giving fans a special taste of what’s to come.
If last night was anything to go by, Afrogospel has found a powerful expression in Abuja, and fans will be eagerly waiting for Festizie to bring it back hopefully every quarter.
